Around 60% of ATMs in Tamilnadu had started functioning but the acute cash shortage exists. On 30th Nov, pension of retired employees,salary of the employees working in private and Government sectors got credited into their accounts but were not able to withdraw due to cash shortage.Many pensioners who stood in queues for long hours returned home empty handed.


Mr.N.B.S.Mani, a retired BSNL employee who went to withdraw his pension money ,had to return with an empty wallet.
Com.N.B.S Mani is the Treasurer of AIBSNLPWA, Chennai Traffic Division.



Com. V.Ramarao, AIBSNLPWA TN Circle President, when approached by the media people had told that the RBI Governor should take responsibility for this situation and should make Reserve Bank officials work over day and night. The money shortage in Banks and ATMs should be a past history. Pensioners are put in to hardship.
